Advocates to Hold Protest Action on February 10, 2025

On February 10, 2025, advocates will hold a protest action by refusing to provide defense or representation in the state bodies of the Republic of Armenia (including courts and preliminary investigation bodies).

They demand that the Government of the RA introduce a legislative initiative and submit to the National Assembly of the RA a draft law "On Amendments to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia." This proposal seeks to exempt services defined as legal advocacy from Value Added Tax (VAT) and to provide provisions for free (pro bono) and voluntary legal assistance.
