The Anti-Corruption Court, presided over by Judge Aram Grigoryan, has just announced the verdict in the case involving Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, and Sedrak Arustamyan. The court acquitted Gagik Tsarukyan, recognizing and proclaiming his innocence, while a guilty verdict was returned against Arustamyan.
“The court recognizes and proclaims the innocence of the defendant, Gagik Tsarukyan, under Part 2 of Article 154.2 of the RA Criminal Code. The defendant, Sedrak Arustamyan, is found guilty of the act provided for by Part 2 of Article 154.2 of the RA Criminal Code,” the judge stated.
As a reminder, these criminal proceedings concern alleged voter bribery to secure votes in favor of a party bloc and its candidate participating in the National Assembly elections on April 2, 2017.
They were charged under Part 1 of Article 219 of the RA Criminal Code—specifically, for giving bribes to voters.
